 Board and NED Appointments

Percival have built a brilliant search and discovery focused process for the appointment of Trustee’s and Non-Executive Directors that brings through the talented, committed and diverse talent from across the country. We are pleased to be developing a great track record of delivering the highest quality service to our partners and work with them to ensure they receive the skills they need to grow and thrive.

With our expert team, led by our Recruitment Director Adam Allnutt, we use the latest CRM available to recruitment practices, the highest level LinkedIn Recruiter accounts, our network mapping ability, partnering with other organisations to share with their networks to bring through lived experience such as Turn2Us, strategic advertising, and referrals from talented candidates. We have a discovery led briefing with all the candidates we bring through the process and work with them to ensure those we bring through are committed to the process.

We are able to use our experience to give advice and guidance as needed, and through our experience ensure we build accessible processes that live up the highest equality diversity and inclusion standards we set ourselves.

Thames Water Trust Fund (TWTF) is a registered charity and independent grant making trust fund. The charity aims to help Thames Water customers who are in difficult circumstances and find themselves unable to pay for essential household white goods, beds, or meet other costs. Established in 2009, the Trustee board has eight members who oversee the work of TWTF of which four of which have their terms including the Chair.

The Percival team met with the Chair and a group of trustees from the TWTF board through a discovery led process to ensure we understood the four positions they were looking to appoint new trustee’s to. This discovery led process focused our search efforts in several areas to ensure we presented a mix of experiences depending on position. We specially looked for an experienced Chair and Treasurer, and two General Trustees who could bring lived experience of financial distressed.

We were proud to present to the board a range of candidates that brought professional and lived experience, diversity in their outlooks and backgrounds, and passion for the work that TWTF undertake. As an example of how expanded our search, we approached our partners at Turn2Us and asked them for help to distribute the job pack to their co-production volunteers who all have lived experience of being assisted by organisations such as TWTF and we managed to bring through some excellent candidates.

We helped the board to design the interview processes, booked a venue for the 14 in person interviews across the four roles, assisted on the day with managing candidates and the interview process, took and delivered feedback, and helped with appointments of the successful candidates. We are proud to have helped the board through the process with an extensive discovery led search and assistance throughout the process to appointment.

Garment & Textile Workers Trust

2x Lived Experience Trustee’s

The Garment and Textile Workers Trust has been set up to provide support, advocacy and remedy for garment and textile workers, initially in Leicester. To do this, they commissioned research from Nottingham University Human Rights Lab that provided them with a thorough, contemporary and holistic view of the challenges garment workers face across the sector.

We worked with them through a discovery and skills audit led approach we worked with the current board to create a new positions on the board for two Lived Experience Trustee’s that could add their voices to board. With our search criteria defined we worked through our active search and referral process to find a strong range of candidates that had lived experience of the sector, were based in Leicester and could add different voices to the board.

Through the search we met with and brough through candidates that had good lived experience but had not been a board member before, taking the time to steward them and ensure they felt confident to go through the process. We worked with the board to design the interview process, prepared the candidates, managed the feedback process, and helped with the appointment process.
